Glentress Weekender

A Glentress weekend of XC & enduro

24 & 25 August | Glentress

This summer, Glentress will definitely be the place to be for two whole days and two very different MTB events.

Saturday is Glentress Seven day – Scotland’s best MTB endurance event returns as hundreds of riders will compete for seven hours on a new course.

Sunday is more gravity focused for intermediate level riders at the new Hope Enjoyro EVO presented by Ridelines. You can expect an exciting race atmosphere for the whole weekend and smiles all round. Glentress will also play host to the Family Day for the first time ever! Expect smiles all round as all ages can enjoy a whole weekend of bikes & mini-festival vibes.

At Glentress Seven, riders will race for seven hours – whether alone or in teams – on a new course which includes some new Glentress trails, and an event village/transition area based at the start/finish line of the UCI Cycling World Championships. So with every lap riders can enjoy their own Glentress XC hero moment – pretty much exactly where Tom Pidcock battled the fastest XC riders in the world last summer!

The Hope Enjoyro EVO presented by Ridelines on Sunday will bridge the skills and gnar divide between the Enjoyro and the full TweedLove enduro level. The EVO will provide the perfect progression if you’ve raced the Enjoyro a few months earlier at the TweedLove Bike Festival. Or if you’re just a bit hesitant about committing to a full-scale enduro race.

The Glentress TweedLove Family Day presented by Ridelines is all about taking part and having fun on your bike. A programme of fun ‘races’ for kids of all ages – seeing how many laps they can do, or just going that wee bit faster!

Saturday: Glentress 7

Scotland’s most popular summer MTB endurance event is returning for 2024 – but it’s going to be a bit different!

Glentress has been undergoing massive redevelopment and as everyone knows, it very successfully hosted the UCI XC World Championships in August 2023. We’re very pleased to be able to reproduce some of the World Champs buzz with Glentress 7…

The race will have a new course, with new trails and the unique event village/pits/transition area will be based at the start/finish line of the UCI Cycling World Championships. The event’s start and finish line will be pretty much exactly where Tom Pidcock battled the fastest XC riders in the world, so everyone can enjoy their own Glentress XC hero moment – lap after lap!

Alongside all the new stuff, the heart of the event remains exactly the same – great trail riding, a friendly atmosphere, smiles all round, an event that’s enjoyable for a huge range of abilities, and of course as much pain and effort as you think appropriate! And cake.

Glentress 7 is a great day’s riding and racing for everyone. The course features some nice climbs, fantastic singletrack, great descents and a whole lot of fun. You can go as hard, or easy, as you like. Ride solo or in teams of two or three – the most laps in seven hours wins.

Sunday: Hope Enjoyro EVO presented by Ridelines

An intermediate level enduro and an easier alternative to a full TweedLove enduro race with the best vibes.

The Enjoyro EVO – an intermediate level enduro and an easier alternative to a full TweedLove enduro race. It will provide the perfect progression from the Enjoyro earlier in the summer and is suitable for riders who want to race an enduro, but don’t wish to take on those full technical and physical demands. A proper enduro, but a bit mellower. (If you’re a seasoned TweedLove racer, think Pro-Am Amateur level in 2022).

The course will still include some challenging riding on some of the best enduro trails in the UK. The course, as usual, will be kept under wraps until the event but expect a top-notch mix of great Tweed Valley trails.

This race is a little bit more low key — no seeding, just great racing and good times.
