Volunteer with TweedLove
We’re looking for volunteers to help make TweedLove the very best it can be. Whether you can spare a few hours or a few days, your help will make all the difference. It really is true that volunteers make these events and without volunteers they simply couldn’t happen, so If you’ve any time to spare, read on!
As ever, we can’t do it without a lot of help, and we’re trying to make sure everyone who helps gets as much out of it as possible too. Helping at these events can be a lot of fun and you get a backstage, up-close experience of the event, and an exclusive crew t-shirt of course, but this year we have new goodies, and Guest Entry Places for you too! (more below)

What’s in it for you?
Full details of all this nice stuff will be sent to you along with crew/volunteer info for events you’re helping out at.
- WIN – Every half day volunteered gets you one ticket for our new Crew Lottery and one full day gets you two tickets – so the more you help, the better chance you have of winning the big money vouchers and other prizes. We’ll be publishing a list of prizes soon, but there are some cracking big rewards coming at you.
We need people to fill every kind of role you can imagine (registration, course marking, marshalling and event village staff, trail Building). If you sign up to volunteer on one of our event days we will definitely need your help for other set up and take down days we will confirm if you are required closer to the dates. If we haven’t been in contact at least a week prior to the dates you’ve signed up for don’t hesitate to chase us up.
What we’re looking for
Volunteers need to be at least sixteen years of age. You’ll need to be available to volunteer for at least half a day. Event volunteers are usually required to start at around 8am and finish will depend on what volunteer role you are allocated. If you’re volunteering outside, marshalling or course marking for example, you’ll need lots of warm clothes and everything you need to be comfortable, dry and warm for a whole day outside.
Keen? Awesome! drop us a line or go to one of the links above and we’ll be in touch. It’s a lot of fun (honest) and you’ll have Bike Valley’s eternal thanks!
What TweedLove means for the valley
TweedLove is now one of the most important events of the year for the Scottish Borders. In 2016, the economic benefit for the area was over £870,000, making it one of the most successful tourism drivers in the region.
What we do has also helped to maintain the Tweed Valley’s reputation as an amazing place to visit for mountain biking. Our events have led to many new trails being built and maintained, a good relationship between the Forestry Commission and the community, some fantastic international media coverage and the best tourism/event-based social media stats in the region.
The stats show how well we’ve done, but also that maybe some of the big organisations need to do better!
Anyway, the bottom line is, TweedLove makes a BIG difference to this place now, and a lot of that is down to your support.
