Feature film: Strength in Numbers
The guys who brought you The Collective series of films and Follow Me are back. In their most ambitious project to date, Anthill Films have travelled the world to bring you the best riders in the finest riding locations in Blu Ray HD glory. From Canada and Nepal to the Swiss Alps and beyond, Strength in Numbers is the must see mountain bike film of 2012. The rider list reads like a who’s who of mountain biking legends and includes our very own Danny Macaskill.
So should be spot on for the valley’s riding community! Inspiration for getting out on your bike guaranteed.
Celluloid Tweed is sponsored by Dirt School.
Film Comp
Short film comp open to anyone. Theme: Bikes. The quality (and quantity) of bike vids is going through the roof at the moment. TweedLove film comps have attracted some high quality entrants in the past (check our website) so we hope it’s as good again this year. Kids films, arty films, adrenalin films… doesn’t matter as long as it’s on theme. We’ll announce the winner, show some of the top entries and there might be a special extra prize for best film featuring the Tweed Valley.
Closing date 20 May. Please submit entries on DVD to Film comp, TweedLove, 12 Kingsmeadows Road, Peebles EH45 9EN. There’s no age limit, any location and subject matter are fine as long as it’s got a ‘bikes’ theme. Three minutes max length. We prefer entries as DVD (your film will probably look better), but you may submit a link to your film online – email [email protected]
Photo Comp
This is TweedLove’s first photo competition, so if you’re skilled with the lens and shutter you might want to send some shots in. The theme is, of course, bikes! The best 24 will be printed, framed and hung at our exhibition in Peebles, with prizes for the top three. The winner will get a big, framed professional print of their image, plus a day’s photography tuition session with pro Kenny Martin.
Winners will be announced at the film night. The best images will be on show at the Eastgate Theatre studio from Sunday 27 May – Friday 22 June.
Closing date 6 May. Please email photos to [email protected], they should be A4 size (roughly) at 300dpi and ready to print. Anything to do with bikes is fine, any location likewise. Though it’s always nice to see Tweed Valley shots, location will not be considered as judging criteria.
