The TweedLove Film Night is a legendary mix of multi-media mayhem, and this year our line-up is off the scale.
We are absolutely stoked to announce that mountain bike icon Martyn Ashton will be our guest speaker at the TweedLove Film Night, hosted by Chipps from Singletrack.
Martyn is a former British and World Champion mountain bike trials rider, stunt rider and team manager. He had been riding professional trials since 1993 and is a bone fide mountain biking legend. He has been credited with turning trials from a niche form of riding into the sport it is today. Ashton was paralysed in an accident in 2013, during a bike trials demo at the British Moto GP. He is inspiring, funny and we’re honoured he’s coming to TweedLove.
He’ll be joined by another trials legend, Chris Akrigg, who stepped in to to help finish Martyn’s Road Bike Party 2 and who will have some stories to tell…
Chris’s riding has evolved to mix everything from trials (where he has been the British National champion no less than six times!), street and trail riding which he incorporates in stunning and unique videos that regularly make jaws drop and have even the best bike handlers in the world think “Did he really just do that?!”
Finally, local adventurer Ed Shoote will be sharing some of his stunning photography from his adventures bikepacking in Central Asia. Last year he decided to try solo 24 hour racing and won a UK title in his first ever race. He says he’s like Forest Gump – when he starts cycling, he can’t stop…we look forward to hearing from him.
All this, plus the winners of the film and photo competitions, and of course, the usual raffle nonsense.
