Tuesday 28 May 2013 – From 6.15pm
High Street Peebles
Fast and furious street racing for a summer evening in Peebles. It’s really three events in one – first the families (and anyone with a bike who wants to join in riding round the course for a ‘victory’ lap), then a full-on women’s race, before the headline men’s racing kicks off.
Family Ride: 6.15pm
For children and their parents
Free entry – just turn up with your bike
A lot of people round here are keen on two wheels. The Peebles Cycling Club kids posse hit the front of the pack before the Family Ride takes the street back from the cars.
After the ride, leave your bike in the free bike parking lot and watch the racing.
Everyone’s welcome.
The Family Ride is sponsored by SEStran, who are backing TweedLove’s all-abilities cycling events – ones which are suitable for novice riders as well as more experienced cyclists.
The TweedLove Family Day is sponsored by SEStran.
SEStran aims to develop a sustainable transportation system for South East Scotland that will enable business to function effectively, and provide everyone living in the region with improved access to health care, education, public services and employment opportunities.
Peebles Sprint
The circuit is short and spectacular, with high speeds and tricky corners for the top riders, and big crowds and a party atmosphere to shout them on.
It’s run as a Belgian-style Kermesse event, with lots of the community involved.

About our sponsor:
SEStran supports cycling for all, as part of our strategy to build a sustainable transportation system for South East Scotland. This year we are backing two all-abilities rides at Tweedlove. These events are suitable for novice riders as well as more experienced cyclists.
To help keep Tweedlove sustainable, visit the transport page to find out how you can reach your event by public transport. If you plan to drive, why not share a car journey through TripshareSEStran and help reduce congestion on the regions roads?”
