Ridelines Beginner Skills

 

Get to grips with the fundamentals. For the mountain biker that needs to build good foundations into their riding. We’ll get you riding with solid techniques and really boost your riding confidence and ability.

Ridelines Intermediate Skills

 

For those that want to ride with assertion, confidently tackle technical features and start getting your wheels off the ground. Lift the standard of you riding with an injection of confidence-inspiring techniques to improve flow and introduce technical riding improvements.

Ridelines Jumpstart Sessions

 

We’ll get you started on your airborne career on jumps and flying drop offs. Learn to pump the bike through tight and bermed corners and learn how to use every inch of the trail to gain and maintain speed.

Ridelines Enduro Sessions

 

Loose, fast and steep. Refine your technique, increase your speed and control and get insight on understanding line choice, finding grip, transitioning between technical trail features.

Swift Trails

 

Swift Trails – mountain bike coaching for women

Introduction to Mountain Biking

 

This session is aimed towards women new to mountain biking and those returning to biking after a break, so it’s appropriate for riders at a beginner level.

We will first show you how to carry out a pre-ride safety check on your bike, check your helmet fits and advise how to get the bike set up for you correctly.

We will focus on the fundamental skills required to ride the trails safely and with confidence. Two hours of coaching will be followed by a 30 minute ride around the trails and then its back to Buzzards Nest for coffee and cake and a post ride chat.

 

When: Wednesday 31st May – 10:00 – 12:30

 Where: Glentress Forest: Buzzards Nest carpark

 Cost: £20 plus booking fee.   Maximum 12 riders. (Instructor/rider ratio 1:6)

 

Required for the coaching sessions: Mountain bike in full working order, appropriate helmet, gloves (optional but recommended) and weather appropriate clothing, snack, drink, spare inner tube & chain link.  

 

 

Intermediate Skills

 

Aimed at those who already have trail confidence, but would like to take their riding to the next level. We will be focusing on the techniques required to ride step-ups and drop-offs.

 Two hours of coaching will be followed by a 30 minute ride around the trails. Arrive anytime between 12:30 – 1:30 for a pre-ride coffee and cake and a chance to socialize with other riders.

 

When: Wednesday 31st May – 1:30 – 4:00pm

Cost: £20 plus booking fee.   Maximum 12 riders. (Instructor/rider ratio 1:6)

Women’s Bike Maintenance Workshop

 

Don’t know your brake cable from your gear shifter?

Does hubby do all the maintenance work on your bike?

Does your bike make strange noises and you have no idea why?

Do you carry a spare inner tube but have no idea how to fit it?

 

 

If the answer is yes to any of the above then join Lucy from Swift Trails for an evening workshop of basic bike maintenance.

Get your hands dirty addressing common maintenance issues and trailside repairs. The workshop will cover

  • Pre-ride safety checks on your bike
  • Recognising wear and tear
  • Common trailside repairs – puncture repair, broken chain, squeaky brakes
