Welcome to TweedLove’s first ever trail-running event.
As you might guess from the name, the event shares a lot in common with the ever-popular Odlo Glentress Seven endurance mtb race. The course will be more or less the same one used for the bike race, which kicks off the following morning.
The Odlo Glentress 11 km trail run aims to share the same sense of fun and adventure that the bike race has done successfully for the last six years. The course is just under 11km and features some beautiful bike and foot trails around Glentress forest.
Course distance 11km
Total ascent approx 375m
Highest point 406m (starting altitude 179m)
Entry cost £25 per person
Suitable for all kinds of runners – anyone who thinks they might enjoy running through beautiful forest landscapes. The trails will be suitable for seasoned runners or first-time trail runners. The course is mostly uphill for the first part and downhill for the second part.
Some favourite Glentress bike trails are used for the event, but don’t worry about bikes being present – the entire course is closed to all other users apart from the event runners.
• Fully waymarked course – closed to everyone but you
• Electronic chip timing – results print out as you finish
• Qualified medical support
• Water / refreshment stop on route
• Beautiful trail scenery
Registration is at event HQ before the start – we’ll send all runners detailed info in advance.
Everyone needs to register well in advance of the race start time in order to collect your race number and timing chip.
Online results will be published for the following race categories:
Female under 18
Male under 18
If you want to do the full 7/11 double – the run on Friday night followed by the bike race on Saturday – and why ever wouldn’t you!? – there will be discounted double entries available here from 7pm on Sunday 23rd October.
Here’s a (provisional) map of the course.
